Weak Leadership Results in Police Having to Take a Strong Stand

QUEEN’S PARK – “After these past two weeks – no one should ever let Doug Ford get away with claiming that he is “FOR THE PEOPLE” – it’s clear he only cares about himself and his political fortunes,” Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca said.

Del Duca spoke at Queen’s Park fresh from two days of listening to the stories of business owners, workers and families directly impacted by the Ford Conservatives’ inaction, speaking with industry, retail, agriculture and municipal leaders about economic damage being caused by the ongoing situation at the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor.

“For a guy who got elected promising to make Ontario ‘Open For Business’, Doug Ford has completely failed the people who work and own those businesses,” Del Duca added.

Del Duca also commented on the leaked recording of the Premier where he makes clear he will soon remove public health restrictions as a direct result of the messages he has received from those protesting his moves. “I would prefer a Premier who acts on science – not political fear.”

The Liberal Leader added that he believed a big part of the reason the anti-vax occupiers have dug themselves in Ottawa and Windsor was because they knew Doug Ford was the weak link in Ontario’s public health chain.
