Liberals in Toronto Centre Nominate David Morris as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

September 8, 2020 – Liberals in Toronto Centre have nominated David Morris, a passionate community advocate, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the 2022 provincial election.

“David’s work in his community has had an immeasurable impact,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I am excited to have somebody as dedicated to helping others as David is on my team.”

From serving as Chair of The 519 Community Centre – a place that provides supports to thousands of newcomers, refugees and local residents – to working with Toronto’s People with AIDS Foundation, Morris is someone who builds spaces for neighbours, friends and strangers to come together and find support. Morris attended Glendon College — York University’s bilingual campus — and has a Bachelor of Education, International Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree.

“When I first put my name on the ballot in 2018, it was because I believed in Liberal values of fairness, inclusion and progressive change,” said Morris. “Today, in these unprecedented times, leadership centered on those values is even more crucial — and the residents of Toronto Centre want to see a real plan to make life easier for those in our communities who are most often left behind. I’m honoured that they have once again chosen to put their faith in me to help shape and deliver that plan.”
