Happy Thanksgiving!

Across Ontario today, families will come together to celebrate thanksgiving.

This is a time to celebrate and to give thanks for our many blessings.

This Thanksgiving will be different, and I recognize that for some families this Thanksgiving will be tough. Our traditions are being upended and we are staying apart to combat COVID-19. We are sacrificing, but we are sacrificing to stop the spread so that more of our loved ones don’t become sick.

I want to recognize all the first responders and front-line workers that are away from their families today. Our nurses, doctors, PSWs and other healthcare heroes have had a particularly trying year. We support you and we are grateful for you.

We may be physically apart, but we can still come together. Let’s seek new ways to help our friends and neighbours. Let’s reach out today to someone who could use a phone call and a friendly voice.

On behalf of my family, I want to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.
