FAO report outlines Ford’s failure to address the crisis in housing and homelessness

Queen’s Park – Ontario Liberal Municipal Affairs and Housing Critic Stephen Blais issued the following statement:

“Unemployment is the highest it has been in a generation with women, new Canadians and workers in low-wage jobs bearing the brunt. Now is the time for more aggressive action to support housing choice for Ontarians.

Instead of tackling some of the root causes for homelessness, Doug Ford lifted the evictions ban and refused to create a provincial guaranteed paid sick leave program to help those who are sick or awaiting test results isolate with financial security. His failure to address this crisis is a betrayal of the thousands of families at risk of experiencing homelessness as a result.”
