Ontario Liberal Party Nominates Current MPP, John Fraser as 2022 Candidate for Ottawa South

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Liberals in Ottawa South have nominated John Fraser, current MPP, Liberal House Leader, and critic for Health and Long-term Care, Intergovernmental Affairs, and Seniors Affairs and Accessibility, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the 2022 provincial election.

“After the 2018 election, John took on the difficult job of interim Liberal leader so that he could make sure Doug Ford would be held accountable for his decisions,” said OLP leader, Steven Del Duca. “He is someone who cares deeply for his community, as well as Ontario, and I’m happy to be standing with him in 2022.”

Born and raised in Elmvale Acres and Alta Vista, Fraser has a deep connection to his community. Before entering politics, John spent 18 years managing small and medium local businesses, along with being an active volunteer for causes close to his heart.

“It is an honour to represent the families of Ottawa South as their Member of Provincial Parliament,” said Fraser. “I look forward to continuing to work hard to ensure our community has world class healthcare, great schools, jobs for our youth, a plan for the environment and support for our most vulnerable. Ontario Liberals are the only party that can deliver this in Ottawa South and Ontario.”
