Liberals in Toronto—Danforth Nominate Mary Fragedakis as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

March 17, 2021 – Liberals in Toronto—Danforth have nominated Mary Fragedakis, a former Toronto City Councillor, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Mary is a proven leader and an outstanding advocate for the Toronto—Danforth community,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “She will be an excellent MPP and I’m very happy to have Mary on our team as we get ready to take on Doug Ford in the next election.”

Fragedakis has lived in Toronto all her life, and was raised to believe that community is where we draw our greatest strength.

For the last two years, Fragedakis has worked as the Executive Director of GreekTown on the Danforth BIA, applying her business expertise and passion for community-building to the work of keeping the riding’s main street vibrant and thriving. Before that, she served for eight years as the Toronto City Councillor for Toronto—Danforth.

Fragedakis has been a part of the Toronto—Danforth community through moments of celebration and of pain, and is dedicated to standing up for its residents in everything she does.

“Our province needs experienced leaders who understand how to get things done,” said Fragedakis. “This riding is ready for change and it needs an MPP who can deliver housing, education and transit solutions that will strengthen our neighbourhoods and our province, while taking care of our most vulnerable friends and neighbours.”
