DEL DUCA: Why Did Doug Ford Wait So Long for Paid Sick Leave?

TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“For over a year, Ontario Liberals have stood with doctors, other opposition parties, and virtually everyone else to demand paid sick leave.

I welcome the news that Doug Ford is belatedly considering implementing paid sick leave. But my heart breaks for the thousands of Ontario families who have suffered with illness, and even death, while he dithered and delayed.

It did not have to be this way, and this should never be allowed to happen again. He is unfit to lead and he has to go.”
