The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women

The attack at École Polytechnique de Montréal will always live on in our memories. Not only do we remember today the 14 young women who were senselessly murdered that day, today we reflect on all the women and girls we have lost to violence against women.

In Ontario, we stand firmly against sexism and antifeminist attacks. That kind of behaviour has no place in this province. 

Working together we can end gender based violence, once and for all. It will require more support for survivors and working with women’s organizations across the province but it can and must be done.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party I want to mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence and commit to building an Ontario we can all be proud of. One where no women will suffer gender based violence ever again.
