The Harassment of Healthcare Workers Must End

Today, Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“Enough is enough. People have no right to block patients from their treatment, harass health care workers as they try and save lives or to intimidate business owners who are trying to make a living in one of the toughest economic periods imaginable.

It is not acceptable to shrug our shoulders and say there’s nothing more we can do. Not while infections are on the rise. Not while our hospitals are filling up and our doctors and nurses are being threatened and abused. Not while anti-vax propaganda continues to flood our computers and our streets.

Doug Ford is only making things hard for those who made the responsible decision to get vaccinated and our most vulnerable. If he won’t show the decisive leadership we need, Ontario Liberals will. We will be releasing a plan to Mandate Safety, protecting our communities and taking the necessary steps to drive increased vaccination and accelerate our reopening. This needs to end.”
