Steven Del Duca Celebrates St. Jean Baptiste Day

Today, Quebecers, Franco-Ontarians and French-Canadians all over the country celebrate St. Jean Baptiste Day.

This day, more than just a holiday, is a celebration of the Francophone identity that is a vital part of the story of Canada’s founding.

Franco-Ontarians are a part of a long and proud tradition. Their rich culture demonstrates the history of diversity that has built our province.

While we wish we could be celebrating this day with bonfires, parades and picnics we know that social distancing is important.

Ontario’s francophones are a proud people and a vital part of the future of Ontario. Today is a great day to celebrate their accomplishments.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party, I want to wish all those celebrating a happy Fete National and St. Jean Baptiste Day.
