Statement from Steven Del Duca on Transgender Day of Visibility

Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, we stand with Transgender persons, recognizing the struggle for equality they still face. Everyone should feel safe being who they are, but sadly that still isn’t the reality many members of the Transgender community face.

While Ontario’s LGBTQ+ community has made great progress in securing rights and equality, there is still much work to do to ensure members of the Transgender community enjoy the same rights and freedoms as everyone else.

Today we recommit to fighting for the safety of Transgender persons in Ontario and around the world. Because Trans rights are human rights.
