Statement from Steven Del Duca on the Lunar New Year

TORONTO – Ontario Liberal Leader, Steven Del Duca issued the following statement:

“Ontarians and many all around the world will celebrate the first new moon of the lunar calendar, and this year, we also celebrate the Year of the Tiger, which symbolizes strength, power and bravery.

While we continue to confront the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrations this Lunar New Year may once again look very different than we’re used to seeing. But I know that everyone will continue finding new ways to celebrate safely, and I look forward to joining you all as we celebrate the turn of the New Year.

One of the reasons I love Ontario is because of all the different cultures we embrace here – and each of those cultures brings a rich history of traditions that we welcome and respect. I admire and share the values that Asian communities celebrate during the New Year – the importance of family being one of them.

From my family to yours, and on behalf of the entire Ontario Liberal Party, I hope the year ahead is filled with hope, joy, prosperity and good health. Happy Lunar New Year!”
