Statement from Steven Del Duca on the Independence Day of Ghana

Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“Today, we join the Ghanaian-Canadian community in celebrating 65 years of independence.

“We also recognize the immense contributions the Ghanaian-Canadian community have made, and continue to make across our country and province. Today, almost 30,000 Ghanians call Ontario home, and our province is made better by the Ghanaian community and their strong presence across Ontario.

“Over the past two years, the Ghanaian-Canadian community has stepped up to support efforts in the fight against COVID-19. I thank the ongoing work of the Ghanaian Canadian Association of Ontario in supporting vaccine deployment and ensuring the safety of our fellow community members. We are forever grateful to your commitment to Ontario and for the sacrifices you continue to make.

“On behalf of myself and the Ontario Liberal Party, I would like to wish all Ghanaian-Canadians a very happy Independence Day.”
