Statement from Steven Del Duca on Puthandu

Today, Tamils around the world and in Ontario celebrate Puthandu – the first day of the Tamil New Year.

Traditionally, Tamils will visit temples, engage in prayer, give gifts and join with friends and family for a feast.

While celebrations this year will certainly look different, because of the pandemic, I know that Tamils in Ontario will still find meaningful ways to celebrate this joyous occasion.

On behalf of myself and the entire Ontario Liberal Party, I wish all Tamil Ontarians a Happy New Year.

Iniya Puthandu Nalvazhthukkal.
