We are committed to open government, and personal privacy.
The Ontario Liberal Party is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal information. This Privacy Statement explains the current information management practices at our websites.
The handling of all personal information by the Ontario Liberal Party is governed by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA). We are committed to protecting your privacy whether you are browsing for information or conducting business with us electronically.
We use Google analytics to help us improve the site, but we do not share your personal identity with Google.
For certain Facebook campaigns we use a Facebook tracking pixel to track the efficacy of our advertising. This provides information only in aggregate and does not supply us with your personal information.
For transactions involving credit cards, we use up-to-date security protocols to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of information and systems.
OntarioLiberal.ca does not store credit card numbers for online donations and membership purchases. When making a donation your information is passed to the payment processor using asymmetric cryptography, where your transaction is either approved or denied by your credit card issuer without touching our database. We will not store your credit card number.
If you choose to donate monthly, your information is passed to the payment processor using asymmetric cryptography to our payment processor (bank), who in turn will store your information until you no longer wish to process payments. Again, we will never store your credit card information in our transaction database.
