Liberals in Ottawa-Vanier Nominate Lucille Collard as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

February 27, 2021 – Liberals in Ottawa-Vanier have nominated Lucille Collard, current MPP, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Since she was elected by the people of Ottawa-Vanier, Lucille has been an outstanding representative for her community at Queen’s Park,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I am very happy to have Lucille on our team as we prepare to defeat Doug Ford in the next provincial election.”

Having been part of her community for over 35 years and a mother of four, Collard has focussed much of her time on advancing education as an essential building block for success. She had a leading role in the opening of a new francophone public school, Trille des Bois, where all students could benefit from an integrated intellectual, emotional and physical development program. Afterwards, she was elected in 2010, 2014 and 2018 as a school trustee and also served as the Chair of the Board of the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario.

Collard serves as the Liberal critic for the Attorney General, Solicitor General, Environment and Parks and Women’s Issues. She was also recently appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Justice Committee. Having been elected for exactly one year to this day and seeking her second mandate, she wants to continue the great work she has accomplished.

“It is an honour to be nominated as the provincial Liberal candidate for Ottawa-Vanier, and it is an added pleasure that it happens on the same day of my election last year,” said Collard. “I look forward to representing the Liberal Party in the next election and putting forward bold initiatives for electors.”
