Ontario Liberals To Host Urgent Vaccine Summit

TORONTO – Ontario Liberals are inviting leaders in the health care, education, business and the municipal sector to an urgent virtual summit to discuss a clear and effective plan for vaccine mandates and the need for a province-wide vaccine certificate. The leaders of each of Ontario’s main political parties, including Premier Ford, will be invited to participate at the meeting.

In his letter to Premier Ford, Ms. Horwath and Mr. Schreiner, Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca urges that politics be put aside to show that our province’s political leaders can come together over one shared goal: ending the fourth wave as quickly as possible.

“Ontario’s COVID-19 numbers continue to head in a troubling direction,” said Del Duca. “Given that schools and campuses province-wide are set to re-open shortly, this is a moment at which decisive and competent leadership is desperately needed.”

“As you know, there exists a strong and growing consensus for a responsible and non-partisan approach to these measures,” added Del Duca. “More than ever before, I believe that leaders must come together and collaborate together to deliver progress and real action.”

The virtual vaccine summit will be held on Monday, August 30 at 10AM.
