TORONTO, ON – Today, the Ontario Liberal Party Caucus voted unanimously to support Bonnie Crombie remaining as party Leader.
“Bonnie is the Leader our party needs. In almost no time and against all odds, she has brought the Ontario Liberals back to party status and amplified our vote. Under her leadership, we are going back to Queen’s Park, bigger, stronger, and ready to hold Doug’s feet to the fire.”
— John Fraser, Member of Provincial Parliament for Ottawa South
« Les libéraux de l’Ontario ont une leader forte. Bonne Crombie nous a redonné le statut officiel de parti et a amplifié notre vote, malgré les circonstances les plus difficiles. Sous son leadership, nous retournons à Queen’s Park, plus grands, plus forts et prêts à tenir le gouvernement de Doug responsable »
— Stephen Blais, le député provincial d’Orléans
The Ontario Liberal Party raised $4 million dollars since January 1st and received 30% of the popular vote, increasing the vote share by almost 400,000. We elected five new MPPs, flipping both PC and NDP ridings, and re-elected nine MPPs.
“Our Caucus stands behind Bonnie completely. Full stop. With her as Leader, we will continue to build!”
— Lee Fairclough, Member of Provincial Parliament for Etobicoke—Lakeshore
“I am so proud of this Caucus, and grateful to have their support. Our team’s momentum is undeniable, you could feel it in the room. Together, we are going to continue to work hard, not just for the more than 1.5 million people in Ontario who voted for us, but for everyone in the province.”
— Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals
There will be a formal leadership review at a later date that is to be determined.
