Ontario Liberal Leader, Steven Del Duca Reacts To Doug Ford’s Letter On The Reopening Of Schools

TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“I hope Doug Ford will finally listen to the experts after a year of pressure from the education community, parents, and opposition politicians, but it’s absurd that he’s only given them one day to make their recommendation.

Now parents, students and education workers will once again be stuck scrambling to make the government’s plan work.

Ontario Liberals would leave the decision on whether or not to reopen schools to each Public Health Unit and local Medical Officer of Health, who understand their community best.

Any plan to reopen schools must be led by experts to ensure education workers, students and parents are safe.”
