Ford’s Failing on EV Infrastructure

TORONTO, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals, released the following statement in response to Umicore halting construction of a $2.8-billion EV battery-materials plant in Ontario:

“After six years in office, it’s clear Doug Ford is failing. He spent his first year in office tearing up climate-action projects, such as removing EV chargers from GO train stations.

“Now, he spends all his time selling off our public assets to enrich his already rich friends, rather than doing the hard work to grow our economy so we can afford to invest in our public services.

“Ontario’s Liberals will ensure our province is ready to reduce our emissions, create good jobs and build up the infrastructure needed so everyone can travel across our province more efficiently.”
