Toronto Centre Provincial Liberal Association

NOTICE is hereby given of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the constituency association of Toronto Centre to elect the Executive Officers and to conduct the annual business of the Association.

January 11th, 2023

Room Daniel Spectrum, Regent Park, 585 Dundas St East, Toronto.

 Elections will take place for the following positions on the association executive: 

  1. a)       President
  2. b)       Executive Vice-President
  3. c)       Treasurer
  4. d)       Secretary
  5. e)       Membership Chair*
  6. f)        Policy Chair*
  7. g)       Election Readiness Chair*
  8. h)       Constitution Chair*
  9. i)        Directors (25)

*Note – Subject to the approval of a proposal to amend the association constitution at the AGM, these positions will be eliminated and the nominations for these positions will be treated as nominations for director positions.

Eligibility to Vote (Membership Cutoff) 

You are eligible to vote at this AGM if you are: 

  1. A resident of the provincial electoral district of Toronto Centre who is a member of the Ontario Liberal Party at 5:00 PM on December 28th, 2022; or
  2. A non-resident member of the association who has been a member continuously since November 18, 2016. 

Registration for Voting 

To register to vote, please bring your identification to the AGM on January 11th. Identification can be: 

Option 1: ONE government-issued ID with your photo, name and current address. (examples: driver’s licence, Ontario photo card)  

Option 2: TWO pieces of ID 

  • one issued by a widely recognized major institution (governments, financial documents) AND 
  • one issued by a widely recognized major institution showing your name and your current address (e.g. bank or credit card statement, utility bill, tax assessment) 

Standing for a Position on the Provincial Liberal Association Executive 

If you are interested to stand for any of the above positions, you must notify the Secretary of the Ontario Liberal Party in writing of your intention to stand by sending an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Intention to stand – Toronto Centre” by no later than 5:00 PM on December 28th. Your email must indicate which position you would like to stand for. In your email, you may include a brief write-up and/or a photo to be circulated to voting members. The write-up shall be no more than 300 words, may be a message to members or a biography, and may include your contact information (including links to social media or webpage). The photo must be no larger than 1MB and may be cropped/scaled down by staff before distribution.
