TORONTO, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, released the following statement:
“When I was Mayor, the City of Mississauga dramatically improved zoning laws to add unlimited density in our downtown with gentle density in our neighbourhoods. We are building beautiful complete communities on our waterfront by reclaiming old industrial lands, and allowing fourplexes.
“We accomplished all of this despite the complete lack of leadership from Doug Ford’s Conservatives, who have failed to act on the recommendations of the provincial government’s own housing task force, and are behind on their own housing targets.
“When it comes to Doug Ford, it’s not about homes people can afford — it’s about making his rich friends richer. That’s why his government is under criminal investigation for the Greenbelt Giveaway.”
