Del Duca: Ford has no testing plan

TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, leader of the Ontario Liberal Party made the following statement:

Every day, Ontarians wake up to the number of new cases and the number of tests.

The number of new cases is trending up, the number of tests performed is trending down.

Yesterday, was another day of missed targets. Today is another day of over 400 new cases.

The Premier’s plan boils down to this: everyone can get tested now. The hope is that Ontarians will take it upon themselves to go into testing clinics so the Premier can hit his numbers.

This isn’t the approach I would be taking. Ontario should be testing workers in high-risk sectors. And we should be implementing random testing so that we can gauge how widespread COVID-19 is.

Asking everyone to be tested isn’t a plan – the responsibility isn’t on Ontarians to bail Ford out, it’s on him to have a cohesive coherent plan that will actually stop the spread of Corona Virus.
