DEL DUCA: Doug Ford’s Sick Leave Falls Short, But Workers Can’t Afford Delays

TORONTO – Ontario Liberal Leader, Steven Del Duca issued the following statement:

“While it’s clear that Doug Ford’s half-hearted sick leave plan abandons workers, they can’t afford anymore delays because of Ford’s political games. That’s why Ontario Liberals have voted to pass the legislation urgently.

Ontario Liberals will remain steadfast champions of the program workers deserve and the Science Table is calling for – a 10 provincially-funded paid sick day program. We won’t stand in the way of progress being made though, however insufficient it may be. I hope Doug Ford will reconsider and amend this program to give workers the 10 paid sick days they’re pleading for.”
