Conservative Attack Ads an Attempt to Distract from Their Scandal-Plagued Government

TORONTO, ON —  Dr. Adil Shamji, MPP for Don Valley East, released the following statement in response to recent attack ads launched by the Conservative Party of Ontario:

“Doug Ford is desperate, and he’s flailing.

You can’t trust Doug. He’s under investigation by the RCMP for his shady back-room deals, and is spending your money on personal pet projects:

  • He’s giving hundreds of millions to a foreign company to build a luxury spa;
  • He’s spent $25 million of taxpayer money on partisan advertising;
  • He’s handed out more than $8 billion in Greenbelt land to his friends and donors; and
  • All this while our healthcare system is on the brink of collapse, and there is an affordability crisis facing Ontario families.

He wants you to focus on his weak attacks on Bonnie Crombie, but he can’t distract Ontarians from the truth. Hypocritical and baseless attacks show just how desperate he is.

Bonnie Crombie has worked hard throughout her life. Doug Ford inherited a multi-million dollar business and a political brand. He owns multiple vacation properties in Muskoka and Florida. And worst of all, he uses the OPP’s plane as his own private jet.

Ontario Liberals are fired up, and we’re coming for Doug Ford and his shady, scandal-plagued government. Ontario families are fed up with Desperate Doug.

In 2026, Bonnie Crombie and the Ontario Liberals will bring back a government on your side.”
