Liberals in Carleton Nominate Tom Dawson as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

December 20, 2021 – Liberals in Carleton have nominated Tom Dawson, a public servant, former hospital foundation chair, and a community advocate, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“As a public servant, Tom has a long history of helping Canadians and ensuring their needs are addressed,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “Tom will be a fantastic MPP for Carleton, and I am very happy to have him on our team.”

Tom Dawson has served in several government departments including Global Affairs Canada, Public Safety Canada, Environment Canada, Industry Canada and Health Canada. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics from the University of Waterloo, a Master’s in European Business from EDHEC in France and an MBA from the University of Victoria.

As MPP, Dawson will promote evidence-based policy and help Ontario families get ahead.

“It is an honour to stand as the Ontario Liberal Party Candidate for Carleton, a perfect blend of rural traditions and modern thought,” said Dawson. “Together, we will make the future one that serves the people.”
