TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:
“COVID cases are skyrocketing and Doug Ford continues to betray Ontarians.
Today, Doug Ford doubled down on a COVID response plan that is offside from what we know Public Health Ontario had recommended earlier.
This latest betrayal comes after shocking revelations that he ignored his own public health experts and lied about it.
Doug Ford’s new half-measures don’t bring his plan to the standards doctors requested, and he only added them because he got caught lying. Nothing short of full adoption of the Public Health Ontario plan is sufficient to keep Ontario from heading over a cliff.
His lies have grave consequences, and lives will be lost as a result.
Doug Ford has had many chances and he has instead failed Ontarians.”
