Attorney General Must Investigate McVety’s Financial Revelations

Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberals, issued the following statement:

Secret documents that were redacted by Doug Ford reveal troubling questions about the financial management at Charles McVety’s Canada Christian College.

I am calling on the Attorney General to get to the bottom of this immediately.

If laws have been broken those responsible must face consequences. It is astounding that McVety and his son have borrowed hundreds of thousands of dollars from their supposed nonprofit college.

It’s not just the opposition that is voicing concerns. Today, Deputy Premier Christine Elliott was even shocked at the latest revelations in the McVety scandal.

The Deputy Premier and Attorney General have the power and influence to stop this scandal. They could put an end to Ford’s backroom deal with his homophobic, Islamophobic, bigoted friend, Charles McVety.

Ontarians are watching to see if the Attorney General will take action. They are watching to see if Christine Elliott will fight homophobia and Islamophobia. And they are watching the PC caucus to see if one of them – any of them, will stand up for decency.
