Climate change is real…taking action on climate change is key to achieving a clean growth economy. Canadians are feeling the impacts of climate change first hand through extreme heat waves, flooding and the melting Arctic. It is important for Canadians to work with all levels of Government to tackle climate change, reduce pollution and make life more affordable.

To this extent, The Region of Waterloo has a long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability and has demonstrated leadership in the pursuit of this goal through numerous initiatives, programs and plans. More and more business leaders have been stepping up to tackle climate change with Canada’s Maple Leaf Foods becoming the first food industry company in the world to become a carbon neutral company.

Join us to hear from Lucille Collard, MPP Ottawa-Vanier; Tom Galloway, Waterloo Regional Councillor (Kitchener) and Tim Faveri, VP, Maple Leaf Foods about their work on the fight against climate change. Our OLP leader, Steven Del Duca will also be joining us as a special guest.

The event is free for monthly Margaret Campbell Fund donors however a one-time small donation to the Margaret Campbell Fund is requested to attend the event (tax receipt will be issued). Registration has been extended until October 2.
