Ford Should Fund Safe Reopening, Not Political Propaganda

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO, ON – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party made the following statement:

Instead of spending money protecting Ontario students, Doug Ford is spending money on new radio ads to promote his failed back to school policies.

The ad, which began airing on Friday, has since been aired almost 500 times.

Doug Ford needs to come clean and tell Ontarians how much his vanity ads cost. This is money that could be funding teachers, special education professionals and caretakers.

For every $1 million Doug Ford spends on ads he could be funding;

  • 11 teachers, or
  • 13 special education professionals, or
  • 20 caretakers, or
  • 2,000 tablets, or
  • 67 classrooms, or
  • 2 million single use masks- 1 for every student in the province of Ontario

Doug Ford is more concerned about the Conservative Party and their polling, rather than protecting our students and education workers.

It’s typical of Doug Ford. Rather than investing so that our students and education workers can safely get back to the classroom, he’s spending tax-payer money to mislead Ontarians.

Ford’s ads were cooked up by the same team that ordered propaganda stickers to be added at the gas pumps across Ontario and who spent millions of dollars producing illegible blue licence plates.

The buck stops with Ford. Take action now and spend money to protect our students, their parents and education workers, not political ads.
