Statement from Steven Del Duca on Portugal National Day

To the Portuguese Community, June 10 marks Portugal Day.

The date, chosen to commemorate the death of the great poet Luís Vaz de Camões, celebrates the contributions of the Portuguese people in Canada and around the world.

While we certainly miss Toronto’s Portugal Day Parade and festival this year, we can take this opportunity to reflect on the many contributions Ontario’s Portuguese community. From singers and writers to athletes and actors, this community is strong, vibrant, and part of what makes this country a great place.

On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party, Feliz Dia de Portugal!
