Statement from Steven Del Duca Celebrating Vyshyvanka Day

Today, Ukrainians around the world will celebrate Vyshyvanka Day.

In celebration of Ukraine’s history and culture, they will wear the iconic embroidered shirts known as Vyshyvankas.

The embroidery is a traditional part of Ukrainian dress, and each garment tells a unique story. Each vivid colour and symbol woven reflects and celebrates the wearer’s local culture and territory.

Vyshyvanka Day is a celebration of Ukrainian unity all over the world, regardless of where they live or what language they speak.

The Ukrainian community has been a vibrant contributor throughout the history of Ontario, and on behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party, I want to wish all those celebrating a Happy Vyshyvanka Day!
