Statement from Interim Leader John Fraser on MPP Des Rosiers resigning her seat

“On behalf of the Ontario Liberal Party and our caucus, I’d like to thank Nathalie Des Rosiers for her service and dedication to our party, caucus and the people of Ontario.

“Elected in 2016, it did not take long for Nathalie to make her mark. Throughout her time as an MPP, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Housing, Status of Women, Energy, Intergovernmental Affairs and later, Minister of Natural Resources & Forestry, she was a thoughtful and effective advocate for her community of Ottawa-Vanier, the city of Ottawa and indeed all Ontarians.

“Nathalie championed important issues like protecting civil liberties and human rights, ensuring environmental sustainability, fighting for pay equity and advocating for the Franco-Ontarian community, to name a few.

“Nathalie’s well researched, articulate arguments and clear communication in the legislature were respected by members of all parties.

“She has been an invaluable member of our team.

“She will be missed at Queen’s Park however, I know she will be just as successful in her new role serving as Principal of Massey College in Toronto.

“Our Ontario Liberal family thanks Nathalie for her service.”
