Join Ottawa South MPP John Fraser, the Ontario Liberal Leader in the Legislature and Critic for Education, for a Forum on the Statue of Education in Ontario on Thursday, November 27 at the Breslau Community Centre starting at 6:30 PM.
MPP Fraser will be joined by the following panelists:
- Jill Promoli – Jill is a Trustee on the Peel District School Board, a community volunteer, and a mother of three who lives in Mississauga. She holds a BA in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier University. In her role as Trustee, she advocates for safe, welcoming, and well maintained schools to provide a supportive learning environment for all students.
- David Geraghty – David is President of the Waterloo Chapter of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association and has been a secondary school classroom teacher since 2000. He holds a BA and Bachelor of Education from Western University and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is the son of two teachers and believes teacher advocacy is critical to a healthy education system that provides quality education for all children.
- Kenya Rios – Kenya is a secondary school teacher and guidance counsellor at the Waterloo Region District School Board with 21 years experience teaching special education, Spanish, sciences, and math.
The Forum will be moderated by Joe Gowing, the Ontario Liberal candidate for Kitchener–Conestoga in 2018 and 2025.
The agenda for the evening will be as follows:
- 6:30-7:00 PM – Registration and Mix & Mingle
- 7:00-8:00 PM – Panelists will discuss their experiences in Ontario’s education system today
- 8:00-8:30 PM – Audience Q & A
