Tariq Khan, Former Commissioner of the London Transit Commission and Current Director of Cancer Registries Canada, Officially Nominated as the Ontario Liberal Candidate for London North Centre

LONDON, ON – Tariq Khan, a long-time active member with the community of London and healthcare advocate, has been officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for London North Centre.

“Tariq Khan brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to tackling the challenges facing families in London North Centre.

“His leadership both as the Chair of London’s Transit Commission and his wealth of healthcare knowledge and activism across the city will help us build safer communities, expand access to family doctors, and make life more affordable by cutting taxes and restoring the dream of homeownership for the real people of Ontario.

“I’m excited to announce that Tariq Khan has been officially nominated as your Ontario Liberal candidate for London North Centre!”

— Bonnie Crombie, Leader of Ontario’s Liberals

“Ontario was never like this before. There are crises everywhere — I see it everyday from the doctors I work with who don’t have enough time or resources, to the cities begging Doug Ford to help with housing, transit rates, good jobs. Communities like London are struggling, access to health care, crime rates are at all-time highs, cars are stolen from our own driveways, unaffordable homes, and youth unemployment is highest in the country.

“Enough is enough. Unlike Doug Ford who puts his friends first, under Bonnie Crombie, Ontario’s Liberals will put you first and deliver more for you.”

— Tariq Khan, Ontario Liberal Candidate for London North Centre

Tariq Khan possesses a wealth of experience with over three decades spent in senior management positions within the public, private, non-profit and health sectors.  He is also a longtime software developer and app creator who provides his services free of charge to help write and develop apps that support Canadian cancer patients and medical staff.

Currently, Tariq holds the below roles within the community, including:

  • Director, Cancer Registries Canada
  • Chair, Court of Revision, City of London
  • Chair, Integrated Transportation Advisory Committee City of London
  • Governor, Western Fair District Canada Board
  • Lt. Governor, Optimist International Midwestern Zone 8 & President, Optimist Club of North London
  • Administrator, MedService, a London based family health clinic owned by Mr Khan’s wife

Today, Tariq Khan is running to be your next Member of Provincial Parliament for London North Centre, to give London North Centre riding the strong voice we deserve in Ontario.
