MISSISSAUGA, ON – Elizabeth Mendes, small business owner and public policy professional, has been officially nominated as the Ontario Liberal candidate for Mississauga—Lakeshore.

Elizabeth grew up and currently lives in Mississauga—Lakeshore and has extensive community experience. She and her husband, Jeremy, are proud parents of Emma and Charlotte. Elizabeth knows first hand the struggles faced by parents, which is why she cares deeply about our children’s future.
A strong advocate for Mississauga, she pushed to improve our schools and successfully secured investments for a local hospital expansion, protected our waterfront and championed better transit.
She earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in Political Science and Government. Not long after graduating from the University of Toronto, Elizabeth worked at the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration, and played a key role as Director of Policy and Budget at the Ministry of Finance.
Elizabeth is currently the owner of a small business that assists other local businesses receive government support. For over four years she was a corporate secretary of a new not-for-profit long term care and affordable housing complex aimed at providing safe, dignified and compassionate care for our most vulnerable seniors.
