High Praise for Empty Promises at Conservative Policy Convention

TORONTO, ON – Bonnie Crombie, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, released the following statement in response to Doug Ford’s Speech at the Conservative Policy Convention:

“This evening, Doug Ford spoke at his Conservative Party’s policy convention, and made more empty promises to the people of Ontario.

The reality is the only people who are better off after six years under this scandal-plagued government are a handful of Ford’s wealthy friends.

The Conservatives like to talk about getting it done but, in fact, have spent more money doing less than any government in Ontario’s history.

Wait times in hospitals have skyrocketed, the dream of home ownership has slipped further away and cuts to our classrooms are leaving students behind.

Meanwhile, Ford is preoccupied with outsourcing ServiceOntario to major American corporations and covering up how much it will cost you.

The people of Ontario deserve better.

Our approach starts with listening to real people across this province to understand what you need.

Later this year, we’ll launch grassroots policy discussions to debate ideas that will build a better life for people across Ontario.

Together, Ontario Liberals will build a team and a plan to defeat and replace this failed government with one that is squarely focused on the needs of the people of Ontario.”
