Minister Rasheed’s Resignation Should Concern All Ontarians: MPP Fraser

OTTAWA, ON — John Fraser, Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party and MPP for Ottawa South, has released the following statement:

“Minister Rasheed’s resignation from both Cabinet and the Conservative Caucus should concern all Ontarians. He is the second Minister who has lost their job over the Greenbelt Scandal — a sign of deep problems within the Ford Government.

“It is important to remember that both Doug Ford’s former Principle Secretary, Amin Massoudi, and the current Director of Housing in the Premier’s Office, Jae Truesdell, were both on the same trip to Las Vegas that is at the centre of Minister Rasheed’s removal from Cabinet and Caucus.

“All roads lead to the Premier’s Office in this $8.3 billion backroom deal that benefited Doug Ford’s friends and fundraisers.

“Ontario Liberals call on Doug Ford to open the books on the $8.3 billion Greenbelt Giveaway and give Ontarians the answers they deserve.”
