Ford Conservatives Trying to Change the Channel on their Greenbelt Giveaway

QUEEN’S PARK – John Fraser, Interim Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party and MPP for Ottawa South, has released the following statement:

“After two appearances from the new Housing Minister, it’s clear that the Ford Conservatives are trying to change the channel on their Greenbelt Giveaway.

“The Minister has said nothing to address what is really at the centre of this scandal — the fact that a handful of rich insiders, and the Premier’s donors and personal friends, were able to direct the government to give them an $8.3 billion payday.

“The government’s phony review is nothing less than an attempt to double down on their $8.3 billion cash-for-your-land-scheme. They are opening up more Greenbelt lands and setting the stage for even more land speculation.

“The Premier needs to end the coverup, waive cabinet privilege, and open the books for a fair and transparent investigation.”
