MPP John Fraser Commemorates the Beginning of Black History Month

“Today marks the beginning of Black History Month in Ontario.

“It’s a time to celebrate and reflect on the history, achievements, and influence of the Black community.

“It’s a time to remember the struggles that the Black community has faced and acknowledge that discrimination and racism still exist in our society today.

“It takes all of us to make change. We need to listen to our neighbours, learn about our past and be bold in order to ensure this Province provides equal opportunity for everyone.

“Throughout February and whenever possible, I encourage you to attend events, speak to black community leaders, support black businesses, and learn about Black History in your community.”
