There is Still Time to Reach a Fair Deal: MPP Hunter

QUEEN’S PARK – Mitzie Hunter, MPP for Scarborough–Guildwood and Ontario Liberal Education Critic, has released the following statement in response to the strike notice filed by Ontario’s education workers:

“Education workers are the frontline of public education and play a critical role in our students’ success. While a fair deal has not yet been reached, it is encouraging to see CUPE and the provincial government find a middle ground on the compensation our education workers deserve.

“Nobody in Ontario wants our children pulled out of the classroom. Not students, not parents, and most of all not education workers. The good news is that it is clear both sides are moving closer together. Both sides must continue the hard work that is needed to reach a fair deal for our education workers – before Monday’s strike date.”
