Statement from Steven Del Duca on Vyshyvanka Day

Today, we join Ukrainian Ontarians and the Ukrainian people in celebration of Vyshyvanka Day.

The bright and floral embroidery of the Vyshyvanka reflect the values of family and tradition that resonate with everyone in our province. It symbolizes the strength of the Ukrainian people that we see every day during this incredibly difficult time, and it reminds us that we are stronger when we stand together.

The people of Ukraine are resilient, but they need help. And Ukrainian-Canadians from across the province have stepped up, holding fundraisers and even hosting refugees and displaced persons as they pick up the pieces of their lives that were so needlessly destroyed.

Today, and every day we stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and all Ontarians who feel a connection to its land, its history and its rich culture.
