Ontario Liberals to Make Public Transit Free for Veterans

TORONTO – The approximate 228,000 Canadian Armed Forces Veterans in Ontario deserve the best access to services and a reduced cost of living. In recognition of their heroic service, an Ontario Liberal Government would make public transit and licence plate renewal free for all veterans.

“I believe the government should honour our Veterans year round by showing respect for their sacrifice and easing their cost of living,” said Ontario Liberal Leader, Steven Del Duca. “We owe the heroes who risked it all for our freedoms.”

The Ontario Liberal proposal would provide needed relief from transit and licensing costs for CAF Veterans.

“Doug Ford is spending $10 billion to build a highway through the Greenbelt, that’s his priority,” said Del Duca. “Ontario Liberals are focused on making life easier for people, including the heroes who defend our freedoms.”
