Statement from Steven Del Duca on the Independence Day of India

Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“Today, we join with people of Indian descent and the Indo-Canadian community in celebrating their 75th Independence Day.

We also celebrate Indo-Canadians and all that they have done to help build up our country, and our province. Indo-Canadians have made incredible contributions to so many of Canada’s communities, especially right here in Ontario, and they continue to make life in Canada better for everyone.

We also thank Indo-Canadians for everything they have done to protect Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it be working on the frontlines or aiding vaccine rollout efforts, Indo-Canadians have been integral to ensuring Canadians remain healthy and safe.

On behalf of myself and the Ontario Liberal Party, I would like to wish all Indo-Canadians a very happy 75th Independence Day!”
