Liberals in Scarborough—Rouge Park Nominate Manal Abdullahi as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

June 2, 2021 – Liberals in Scarborough—Rouge Park have nominated Manal Abdullahi, a Student Success Advisor and community organizer, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“Manal is a passionate leader in her role helping young people succeed, and she will be a strong voice for her community at Queen’s Park,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I am thrilled to have Manal on our team as we prepare to end Doug Ford’s agenda of chaos and cuts in the next election.”

Currently working as a Student Success Advisor, Abdullahi is passionate about children and youth obtaining their educational goals through equitable, quality education that equips them for the jobs of tomorrow. Holding an Honours Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies & Political Science from University of Toronto-Scarborough Campus, and a TESOL Diploma, Abdullahi is dedicated to community development and lifelong learning.

Having lived in Scarborough for over 20 years, Abdullahi recognizes the importance of improving transit, strengthening healthcare, inclusive and equitable quality education, and increasing access to affordable and sustainable housing.

“I am honoured to represent Scarborough—Rouge Park as the Ontario Liberal candidate,” said Abdullahi. “I look forward to strengthening our community through advocacy and collaboration.”
