Ontario Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca Responds To The Auditor General’s Report

TORONTO – Steven Del Duca, Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party, issued the following statement:

“I would like to thank the Auditor General for her report. While Ontario Liberals made some progress on long-term care, it’s clear there is still so much left to be done.

While we knew Doug Ford and his government had failed our loved ones in nursing homes, it’s truly horrifying that they continuously ignored red flags in the earliest days of the pandemic. That negligence led to deaths. Families lost their loved ones.

Doug Ford said he created an iron ring around our nursing homes. In reality, he left staff without enough PPE, residents sitting hungry in their own filth and their families with little or no communication with their loved ones.”
