Liberals in Mississauga—Lakeshore Nominate Elizabeth Mendes as 2022 Ontario Liberal Party Candidate

February 16, 2021 — Liberals in Mississauga-Lakeshore have nominated Elizabeth Mendes, a business owner and public policy professional, as their Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) candidate for the next provincial election.

“For years, Elizabeth Mendes has worked hard to build up her community and help the people of Mississauga-Lakeshore,” said OLP Leader, Steven Del Duca. “I know she has what it takes to be a great local representative and I’m happy to have her on our team as we prepare to take on Doug Ford in the next election.”

Mendes and her husband, Jeremy, are proud parents to their daughter Emma. Mendes knows first hand the struggles faced by parents which is why she cares deeply about our children’s future. Mendes has pushed to improve Ontario’s schools and has also successfully secured investments for a local hospital expansion.

Mendes is also a director of a new not-for-profit long term care and affordable housing complex, to provide safe, dignified and compassionate care for our most vulnerable seniors. As a principal owner of a consulting practice, she also continues to support local businesses.

“I would be honoured to represent the people of Mississauga-Lakeshore at Queens Park,” said Mendes. “I will continue to work hard for our community and, together, we will put Ontario back on track.”
