Statement from Steven Del Duca on Today’s Provincial COVID-19 Update

“Today’s update – that there are 4,249 new cases and 26 new deaths – is a shocking result of Doug Ford’s tragic COVID-19 response. It’s clear that he has completely lost control over the pandemic, and his government’s response has failed.

Earlier this week, I called on Doug Ford to request military assistance in Ontario’s worst hit nursing homes and to provide logistical support for the slow, ineffective vaccine rollout. That he hasn’t requested it yet, shows he’s in over his head with no plan to get things under control.

Doug Ford needs to sort out Ontario’s vaccine rollout now – there’s no time to waste. The only way out of the mess he created is by getting vaccines into arms, and so far he has been failing to make it happen. He needs to step up, or step aside for somebody more capable.”
