Details
In accordance with Article 8 of the Constitution of the Ontario Liberal Party, the OLP Executive Council has set Friday June 12th, 2019 as the commencement of the 2020 Ontario Liberal Party Annual General Meeting (AGM), continuing through Sunday, June 14th, 2020. The meeting will take place in London, Ontario.
Key dates
| April 18 | Last date for PLAs to notify OLP office of a DEM date and location |
| May 13 | Last date to hold a Delegate Election Meeting |
| May 13 | Deadline to submit proposed constitutional amendments to the Secretary of the Ontario Liberal Party |
| May 15 | Deadline to qualify for early bird delegate rates. NOTE: Payment must be received by this date, after which delegate fees will increase. Note that there will be NO EXCEPTIONS to the cut-off date for the early fee. |
| May 22 | Deadline to file written notice the Executive Director of the Ontario Liberal Party declaring candidacy for an Executive Council position. ALSO deadline to submit the name of riding’s Volunteer of the Year, and In Memoriam (if applicable) |
| May 28 | Constitutional Committee report containing submitted amendments published to AGM webpage |
| June 10 | Online registration deadline (note: registration will be available on site) |
Delegate Election Meetings
Delegate Election Meetings (DEMs) will be held in ridings across the province in advance of the AGM to determine who is eligible to attend as a voting delegate. All Provincial Liberal Associations must hold a DEM by the May 13 deadline and notify the OLP office of the date and location of the meeting by April 18. More information about how to participate will be provided in the coming months.
Convention Registration Rates
Registration rates for delegates will be made available in the coming months. Early-bird registration rates will also be made available to help attendees save on costs.
Hotels
Special rates for hotel rooms will be made available in the coming months.
Agenda
The 2020 AGM will be an opportunity for members to meet our new leader, learn more about the new Organizing Ontario volunteer program, and to hear more about the nominations process and how to become a candidate. A full agenda will be shared in the coming months.
Note: All sessions, timing and locations are subject to change. Voting procedures for constitutional amendments and candidate elections may also cause the agenda to change.
Constitutional Amendments
At every AGM, members have an opportunity to put forward amendments to improve how our party is run. Amendments should be submitted by email to the Secretary of the Ontario Liberal Party no later than 11:59PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
