ETOBICOKE—LAKESHORE – Steven Del Duca joined a group of community activists to champion the Ontario Liberal plan to ban handguns in Ontario.
“Gun crime and carjackings are on the rise,” said Del Duca. “What’s worse, Doug Ford doesn’t seem to care and fights to keep handguns legal. He has resisted municipal and federal efforts to get guns off our streets. These brazen attacks are escalating and endangering the lives of families across Ontario – and the fear needs to end.”
Ontario Liberals will:
- Ban the sale, possession, transport and storage of handguns in Ontario;
- Accept the federal government’s offer to fund a buy-back program;
- Crack down on gun smuggling at the Ontario-U.S. borders; and
- Lead the charge for a national ban on handguns to stop trafficking through inter-provincial borders.
“Ontario has had enough,” said Steven Del Duca. “Enough of the broken promises, the cuts and chaos. This election is our chance to send a message to Doug Ford – to put a stop to his carelessness and recklessness, once and for all.”
